What is UPI 123Pay?
UPI 123Pay is a set of tools made for people who don’t use smartphones or feature phones to use UPI without internet access.
It only requires three steps: Call, Choose, Pay.
🗓️ When was it launched?
On March 8, 2022, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) officially launched UPI 123Pay.
4 Solutions for 123Pay under UPI
- Through the IVR Number, payment Customers can dial a predetermined number to access UPI services with this solution. Utilize the UPI services by selecting the option using the keypad.
- Through Missed Call, payment Customers can use this solution to make transactions by calling a number that is shown on the merchant’s side. After that, the customer will get a call from a specific number to enter the UPI PIN and verify the transaction. The transaction is successful once the correct UPI PIN is entered.
- Payment through OEM-implemented functionality Customers can get a UPI for their feature phone with this solution. The customer can conduct business by means of that application.
- Sound-based technologies for payment the customer must call the IVR number and select the pay to merchant option with this solution. They tap their mobile phone on the merchant device (POD) and press # when the unique tone is heard. After entering the amount and UPI PIN, the transaction is completed successfully.
